The concept of Wilderness Whispers was born amongst the shadows of the mighty Yellowwood trees that form the forests on the slopes of the southern Cape Mountains.
But its genesis was in the African bushveld and savannahs, its mountain ranges and its kopjes, and in all the hues of its autumn colours, baking heat and torrential summer rains.
First to come were the stories told around firesides in environmental education with children of all ages. These were developed into tales with an environmental bent and brought in characters of fairies, which still pop into my imagination from time to time. There, they play a little and leave footprints of stories to come.
Short stories, and long followed, and then a blog on Facebook where my ‘Fridayfootprints’ appear.
Now, as Wilderness Whispers matures, products developed from the images and prose that inspired them have begun to take shape as ‘Food for the Soul’ in a usable gift format.
Enjoy, and may you find the sustenance that you seek!
