#fridayfootprints – Friday 17th September 2021

Do we greet the day with the same joy that the flowers, birds and other inhabitants manage to do day in and day out, season to season? What is it that God’s creatures find to fill their lives with such gay abandon?

The sound of birds that fills the air from dawn to dusk, and sometimes beyond. The nightly chorus of the frogs and crickets, serenaded by nightjars and owls and unheard bats. The shades of green mixed with a rainbow symphony of colour all combine to bring glory to God in a way that makes humankind’s worship seem somewhat inadequate.

Feeling the joy that absolute love brings means seeing life as God’s creatures do. Whether there is enough seed, nectar, rain, mulch and other elements to feed on or not, doesn’t give cause to experience joy differently. Joy is Joy, anytime of the day.

Celebrating God is being filled with joy – filled by His Spirit – all the time – overflowing and swaying in the breeze, it’s an; “Ooooh, and Aaaah and Wow feeling!
